An old prison, now a museum. Everyone should, or in my opinion must, see this large historical prison, where many prisoners of thought, such as the well-known Turkish poet and author Sabahattin Ali, were kept. There's also a dungeon. If you happen to visit the northern regions of Turkey, make sure you also visit Sinop, where this historical prison is located.

I really enjoyed my visit to this prison, I have always had an interest in prison agriculture and prison life so it was very interesting to me. Overall really good experience and lots to see and think about.

Museum is closed for visit from June 2021, it is under re construction. Do not travel Sinop only to visit Historic Museum...

Little Information, no foreign languages. It’s such an important place and history but unfortunately there’s almost no information posted, and the little information there is is only in Turkish. They’ve really dropped the ball on this one.

Museum in a dire condition with vandalised walls full of visitors' writings...Better notice and multilingual information boards would be greatly appreciated
